The all-inclusive model was practically invented for families: one upfront price covers your rooms, every meal, unlimited drinks (yes, adult beverages too), kids clubs, entertainment, water sports, and activities. No surprise bills. No restaurant math. Just quality time together. Here's everything first-timers need to know.

What's Actually Included?

At a family all-inclusive resort, your nightly rate typically covers:

• All restaurants and buffets (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks)
• Unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
• Kids club programs with certified staff
• Pool, beach, and waterpark access
• Non-motorized water sports (kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkeling)
• Daily entertainment and activities
• WiFi (at most modern resorts)
• Room service (varies by resort)

Not typically included: spa treatments, motorized water sports, off-resort excursions, premium liquor upgrades, and gift shop purchases. Some resorts offer booking incentives like spa credits or free excursions — always ask your travel advisor about current deals.

How Kids Clubs Work

Family all-inclusive resorts divide children into age groups, each with dedicated staff and programming:

• Baby/Infant programs (0-3): Available at Beaches, Club Med, and select others. Certified nannies, baby-safe play areas, and feeding support.
• Kids Club (4-10): Structured activities including arts and crafts, treasure hunts, sports, and water play. Runs morning through evening.

The Tipping Question

• Beaches (Sandals): Tips fully included. Tipping is not expected or allowed.
• Club Med: Tips fully included.

• Hyatt Ziva: Tips included; $1-2 per drink is common but optional.

Swim-Out Room

Ground-floor rooms where you step from your patio directly into a pool. Kids absolutely love these. Book early — they sell out fastest.

Maximizing Your Family's Value

• Make restaurant reservations on arrival. Head to the concierge desk before the pool. Specialty restaurants fill up fast.
• Use the kids club strategically. Drop the kids off for a few hours and enjoy adult pool time, spa time, or a quiet dinner as a couple.
• Try everything. You've paid for all the activities, restaurants, and entertainment. Don't default to the buffet every night — explore every option.
